Welcome to the Crushers!
Established in 2010, Caledonian Crushers Rugby Wheelchair Club is based in Glasgow with players from all over Scotland and – weekly train at the new Emirates Arena. Built especially for the 2012 Commonwealth games the Emirates Arena boasts some of the best sports facilities in the UK and Europe.
Wheelchair rugby is a fast paced, full contact team sport open to both sexes and to most levels of disabilities, especially those with higher levels of disabilities for whom there are very few options to take part in sport. To qualify to play competitively, player must have a disability affecting their arms and legs, although there’s no restrictions to anyone who would like to join training for the fitness benefits. Playing wheelchair rugby not only promotes one’s fitness but increases well-being and confidence of all those taking part by travelling to various competitions, and meeting, playing and socialising with a whole new group of friends.
We encourage anyone interested in volunteering and players of all levels, experience and disabilities to take part in wheelchair rugby. Interested? Not sure if it’s for you? Well why not come down meet the team? Come on, join the fun!
