In June 2006, I broke my neck in three places after being involved in a motorbike accident. After spending a year in hospital I have had to make major adjustments in my life. Before my accident I would regularly ice hockey at the weekends so when I heard about the Caledonian Crushers through the spinal unit I was keen to give it a go. In September 2011 I joined the team, it has kept me fit and discovered a new bunch of pals. It’s nice to be part of a team, traveling up and down to tournaments and keeping in contact with people with similar issues and experiences. Playing rugby helps me develop new skills and keeps me mentally active but the best part of playing with the Crushers is ……..Da’ Banter!!!
